Group Counselling

Group counselling involves clients engaging in a series of collaborative conversations with a counsellor or other healthcare professionals. In group counselling, however, those conversations involve multiple clients at the same time. The members of these groups usually share a common situation, concern or condition. While group counselling offers the benefits of more private forms of counselling – including non-judgmental exploration of issues and potential pathways to better health – it also provides participants with the knowledge, support, validation and security of a peer group. For many of the clients who are interested in group counselling, being connected to people who are having similar experiences and facing similar challenges is a valuable part of achieving better health for themselves.
