Individual counselling is the foundation of many therapeutic programs and can be a valuable strategy for addressing a variety of conditions and situations. Individual therapy consists of a series of confidential, one-on-one conversations between you and a counsellor or other member of the Homewood team. These discussions are collaborative, as the two of you work in a non-judgmental way to identify the causes of the issues that have brought you to counselling as well as workable plans to move you forward. At Homewood Counselling Centre, we use an integrative model of counselling that can incorporate one or multiple evidence-based approaches – including cognitive-behavioural therapy, dialectical and behavioural therapy, psychodynamic therapy and rational emotive therapy – depending on what works best for you.
